DontMessWithMeaka GraceP Asked: How am I doing on weight loss, need advice plz?!?

i am 16, 5'6", and overweight girl. I reached 170 for a short while last year, but have been floating around 165 until almost 2 months ago. after trying forever, i started dropping pounds by counting calories. I've been aiming for 1500 calories a day, and did moderate cardio(jogging on treadmill) for an average of half an hour a day. now i'm 155! so about a pound a week…am i on the right track? what can i do better to speed up weight loss, and how long do you think it will take me to reach 140, or more? i am vegetarian, so i eat lots of fruits, soy products, and dairy. i eat absolutely no white bread, in fact little bread at all, and avoid junk food 99.9% of the time. am i doing this right and what can i improve, anything and everything? i'm willing to work hard. please give advice, helpful criticism about my lifestyle changes, and stuff like that. thank you so much, i wanna be healthy and confident! <3

Eat artichoke! It boost your metabolism ! Drink the tea also, you can find it at walmart, and it's cheap. No eating after 7.

I would say that you are doing great! Dedication is the key component to weight loss. Also, don't try to speed the process up. A pound a week is just the right amount…. I would maybe suggest drinking a lot of water! I have about 6 ("Venti" size) glasses a day… It helps a lot, and also clears up your skin! haha I also don't eat anything after six and just keep drinking lots of water!…but other than that, great job!!…

It sounds like you eat pretty good. Eating too much of anything can be bad though so portion it out. You're doing pretty good on weight loss, and to speed it up a little drink lots of water and run even more than you do now. Other than that just keep working an you'll get there

yes youre on the right track. a pound a week is good! thats four pounds a month and almost 50 a year. plus i think if you lose more than two a week you lose muscle not just fat.

You are absolutely doing the right thing. By losing 1-2 pounds/week, you're creating a sustainable loss. If there is one thing you can do to change up your routine and add a little more burn to your routine it's to do a couple of days of walking outside for a solid hour on uneven terrain. By going on a walking path, or some of the larger parks where there are berms and valleys, what you're doing is working new muscles and gaining a bigger cardio workout. Also, when you're outside and keeping to a schedule, you breathe more deeply and can speed up/slow down as the terrain changes, but still maintain the same intensity of the workout. Your quads and gluts will really appreciate it. Even something like walking around a mall and going up and down the stairs and the various levels of ramps gives you the same kind of workout that you'd get on a walking trail. It's good stuff and helps you mix up the muscle groups so that you break in some new places to tone up.

Have you ever join a gym?If not,try joining a gym where you will get motivation from..lengthen your cardio session.Motivation and hard work is the key to success..Impossible is nothing..just be consistent!
