DMNDZ Asked: I’m A Teen Guy, Want to lose some fat? Help?

I'm 16 and a half years old, 5'11 tall, 190 lbs, size 32-34 waist. I really want to lose 20-25 lbs asap, and get nice and toned and lean. I only have stomach fat, love handles, and fat on my bum. I'm not obese or really overweight, jsut quite chubby. How can I lose this fat? I don't have a gym membership, and it's cold and icy outside, so i can't jog. I do have dumbbells in my house, and someone told me if I do HIIT inside I can lose it as well. Also, is the insanity workout good? thanks!

5'11 @ 190 pounds is a pretty good size though.

but anyway. dumbells isnt going to do anything. you HAVE to do loots of cardio (jogging, swimming, jump rope) and sit ups.
and try not to eat much with sugar or carbohydrates in it. (look on the nutrition guide on the packages of whatever you are eating)

The principle is simple, burn more calories than you consume, and your body will start to consume your fat. So you should eat 2000 calories a day tops. A 1 hour workout every day should be enough. Try to find something, jogging, swimming, basketball, football, gym anything really. You should see results in a year, sorry there is no fast and easy way to do it. Oh, and chess isn't a workout. Hope this helps

I've been trying to lose weight myself, exercise DVDs are good – something like Harvey Walden isn't too expensive and has a nice pace to it with some circuit training and gets a good sweat on.

I also enjoy dance dvd's (I'm gay, but they are fun). I use like a 10 minutes a day one, does a good dancey workout that you can fit into any schedule (I've been slacking lately) and is a bit more fun than circuits.

Drink water and eat healthy food – no more christmas candy or soda. Even though its cold, go for a quick walk every day. If you watch TV, stay standing up.
