advice for my computer build?
Asked: advice for my computer build?
okay, i'll list my specs and afterwards ask the questions. expectations are running minecraft and a screen recorder at the same time, slight video editing, and internet such as facebook, youtube, etc. Stopping the budget at $600. so far this is what i have:
CPU: Intel Celeron Ivy Bridge 2.7GHz LGA 1155
RAM: 4GB Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer DDR3-1600 RAM from Newegg
CPU Cooler: CoolerMaster Hyper 212 EVO 120mm Sleeve CPU Cooler from Newegg
Motherboard: ECS Z77H2-A4 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6GB/s USB 3.0 ATX Board with UEFI BIOS from Newegg
HDD: Western Digital WD Blue 500GB 7200RPM SATA 6GB/s from Newegg
PSU: APEVIA JAVA ATX12V/EPS12V 650W from Newegg
Case: XION Onyx XON-301 Black Steel ATX Mid Tower w/140mm Green LED Fan from Newegg
Optical Drive: ASUS 24X DVD Burner Black SATA Model
okay so my first question is whether or not the PSU is too much? second question is where can i find a nVIDIA GeForce 9800 GPU? either the regular 9800 or the 9800GT, at a reasonable price. third question is with either a 9800 or 9800GT and the rest of my specs, will i be able to play minecraft and record it? and should i upgrade to 6-8GB of RAM? my total so far is $406.92 USD. is there anywhere i could cut back to save money? any feedback that can be given is much appreciated!

My computer is having problems loading things!?
Asked: My computer is having problems loading things!?
Ok, so I built this computer about a year and a half ago.Although it's been running a little slower then it was when I first got it(When I first got it, I could run Crysis 2 on the highest settings without lag, and now if I have Starcraft 2 on Ultra I get frame lag when there are too many units. But that's not important right now.
It has i5 2500k 3.3GHz Intel Processor and 16GB of RAM, and runs two SSD's on two 6GB/S Sata ports on the Mobo and 1 Sata on a 3GB/S Sata port(I only have two 6GB/S Sata ports): )The OS is running off of one of the SSD's, while I use one of the other SSD's for ONLY games, and the Sata for storing everything else.
So here's the problem:
It's been having some trouble loading things.I'm not completely sure exactly what yet(as weird as that sounds), and it only started recently; but here's some backstory.I started noticing this a couple weeks ago.At first it was just Google Chrome and Firefox(as far as I remember) that would take a while to load webpages. When I turn the computer on(or restart it) it's fine.It runs as I expect it to.But I had noticed that after a while webpages start hanging for a while before actually loading(I had just originally assumed it was slow internet, but as it kept happening I tried loading pages on my laptop and iPhone while this computer was loading and they would both load fine).I would also notice things like when I click Firefox(Installed on my Sata which is connected to the 3GB/S sata port on the mobo and designated as the G: drive) it would take a few seconds to load. And when I would click the C: Drive in My Computer, it would hang for a second or two, and I would hear the Sata start spinning(The C: Drive is my SSD and contains the OS, not the Sata). As of the last couple of days, I noticed that after a while I would have the same problem. However, this time, if I open Firefox, and try to use it, it freezes. It completely locks up, and I can't use it.Additionally, if I try and load a page on Chrome, there is long hang time(5 or so seconds).I am also experiencing hang times on most progrms(Trying to start up Starcraft 2, Speccy, Skype, Microsoft Word, ect.Of course not all at the same time, but if I try any of them they all hang. They are also not all installed on the Sata.I have Speccy and Word on the Sata, Starcraft 2 on the second SSD, and Skype on the SSD containing the OS)
It's driving me crazy.I can't figure out what it is.It doesn't happen when I first turn on the computer, and it didn't happen before.I haven't defragged the SSD's(because that is bad for them and wont do anything anyway).I don't have access processes running, I don't have a way to max out 16GB of RAM at this point in time, so I really don't know.
If anyone could toss out some Ideas that would be awesome!
-Thanks!

Multi-Server Minecraft Machine – RAM Question?
Asked: Multi-Server Minecraft Machine – RAM Question?
I am building a Minecraft server on which I want to run multiple (2 or 3) servers simultaneously.I am currently debating between purchasing 4GB or 8GB of ram, the cost difference being $23.I know that RAM is often a relative non-issue with Minecraft, despite what most people think (that you should have copious amounts of it), as MC does not use *that* much memory, and Java only allocates so much of it anyways.
However, I'm not quite sure how much 2 or 3 servers will eat up, especially if some are, say, FTB or Tekkit.
Does anyone have any experience with this?
Should I spend the extra money for the 8gb, or is 4 plenty?
Keeping in mind that this is a lowest-possible-cost build, and $20 is almost a 10% overall price increase.
Thanks in advance!
