Asked: Should I continue to try to reconcile with my ex?

I met my ex on a dating site about a year ago. We live in different states, so it would have been a long-distance relationship to begin but we had talked about my relocating so we could be together. We are the same age, 53 yrs old, we have similar interests in the arts and tastes in books and music. We find each other physically attractive so sex would be no problem.

The problem is temperament. I tend to be objective when a problem arises. I try to look at it without adding a lot of emotional baggage, which only makes a situation appear worse than it might actually be. My ex is the opposite. He magnifies any argument into a lifelong pattern that will never change. He thinks he can predict the future as to whether or not we will be happy or not.

The biggest insult is that he now declares he's "scared" of me. Bear in mind, we've done nothing more than have a few disagreements and misunderstandings. Nobody has thrown a punch or threatened anyone. I think my intelligence makes him nervous because he can't deceive me the way he might have done with past lovers. He finds me attractive, but he also suspects I will cheat on him, though I've given no reason to think this.

I don't fall in love easily, so when I do, I must take notice of my feelings and be brave enough to try as much as I can to build a foundation for love that lasts. However, do you believe there would ever be a change where this fraidy cat would get over his fears (because his being scared is all about him and has little to do with me) and allow us to continue to get to know each other?

I'm concerned that even if we reconcile or just start talking again, he will be on a hair trigger to bolt and run again.

Dante Asked: Does she finally like me back or does she still want to wait?

ok so theres this girl i like and she and her friends and mom know i like her. Although her parents dont want her dating her mom has NO problem with me hanging out with her. She doesnt mind me hugging her daughter or being close to her. In fact she encourages it sometimes. Her mom almost treats us like a mini couple. She gave me a list of ten signs a girl does when she likes a guy and she does it all. However before, she would call us friends and she still does but now i dont know if shes doing it in a friendly way or in a flirty way. All the girls i talked to say a girl does that when she likes a guy and to see if hes worth it. I really like her and if i have to wait i will. Shes 14 and im 16. Before she had a problem with the age difference but now she doesnt even mention it. I told her that i see alot of these signs from her list and she said "but (nickname she gave me) we are friends duh… we are suppose to like each other <3" Heres the top ten signs she gave me
(1) she brings u around her family n friends
2) she finds opportunities for u n her to breathe the same air
(3) she corresponds with u a lot
(4) she teases you with jokes
(5) she writes poems, songs etc
(6) she wants u to be a part of her everyday wrold like fam life etc
(7) she compliments u sincerely
(8) she gets cranky around y which shows that she is comfy and trusts u
(9) she doesn't mind just seeing u, stealing glances sometimes wrods aren't even necessary
(10) she sometimes gets quiet or shy around the person n may appear uniterested but just trying to be cool while butterflies in tummy lol
From this list she does everything, she invites me to hang out with her CLOSEST friends and i met just about most of her close relatives all of who love me. She also invited me to go ice skating and movies with her friends with our friends to avoid a double date feeling because of her strict parents. She talks to me for hours on facebook and she starts the convos now. She loves making jokes with me. She wrote me a poem about how much she thinks about me and shes currently in the process of making more poems and wants me to write some back. She invited me to her upcoming family reunion. She argues with her mom over stupid irrelevant things when im around. One of my female friends said that at church, she stares at me and then randomly leaves to go back to meet up with her mom. She stares at me in the hallway and my friend even talked with the other girls as they watch her stare at me. Also after i wrote her a poem she admitted that she is shy but extra shy around you and she sometimes get butterflies in her tummy when im there and she admitted that a month before she gave me the list. Also now she texts me alot more hearts and talks to me up until 11 or 12. Sometimes even 1. She lives a 20 minute drive my house and shes going to have her mom drive all the way to my town so she can sleep over at her aunts house just to go jogging with me. Even though she shows all these signs, Im afraid to bring up anything about us going out because I dont know if she was flirting or just being nice and I dont know if she still wants to wait and be friends or go out now. BUt if she wants to wait why would she do all this to this EXTENT. She admitted on june 1st that she was worried that because of her strict parents and lifestyle i would forget about her and go find some other girl which explains why she used to be so ok with me chasing other girls because she didnt want to get hurt. She admitted that she doesnt want me to hurt her, and wants to be super friends later.

RainbowDash192 Asked: Do animals go to heaven? And what do you think of the Rainbow Bridge?

My horse, Ruby recently died this week, I've been crying non-stop as I have owned her for three years, and I know three years isn't a long time, but in that period in which I've owned her, I've felt like me and her had a very special bond. I've never competed on her, I've just had a very big friendship bond with her. I've taken care of her everyday and rode her. Now I can't believe she's gone.

I'm Christian, and ever since Ruby died, I've been praying a lot of what I've usually prayed. I prayed that Ruby was safe in heaven with God, but then my friend e-mailed this poem to me:

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together and lush green grass for them to roll in.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who were once ill and old are restored to health and vigor.
Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.
His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers.
Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.
The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together…..
Author Unknown

Ever since I've read that poem, I've been convinced that animals do go somewhere special when they die. And I've heard people telling me that animals don't have souls, but whenever they tell me that, I get an urge to slap them in the face (lol). Now, the bible says nowhere that animals have souls, but it doesn't say that animals don't go to heaven. One of my friends told me that the Rainbow Bridge isn't real, that it was made up to make people happier I hope that isn't the case. And all that about animals don't have souls, well, honestly, humans aren't better than animals, and if you think you are, then really…

What do you think?

PS: I will ignore rude comments, I'm already going through a tough time already, don't make it any harder.

Erin Asked: How can I convince my BEST friend to not join the Army?

So, when I was in second grade my parents divorced and have joint custody/shared custody/split custody whatever you want to call it of my brother and I. We lived with my mom half of the week in a town about 15 minutes away from my dad's house. So, we had to make some new friends. To this day I havent met a teenager my age who doesnt smoke or is tuck-up and snobby. I stay away from those types. So I hung out with my brother's friends on the weekends and summer break. Well, my brother is 4 years older than me, so you can imagine what his friends thought of me. The tag-along little girl scout that wouldnt stop trying to sell them cookies (that was just an analogy- i wasnt a girlscout). But as I got older, they started to like me a lot more. Especially the older ones. Nick and Matt were super nice to me. Richard was the worst, I thought. He was the older brother who bear hugged me after he was sweaty from hockey games, squawked like a rabid crow, and always said "eeeerrrrin take some!" (inside joke from halloween- kinda dumb- extremely annoying.)
So, I havent seen this kid for 3 years because he moved out of my neighborhood. I was at the gym tonight and I saw this really jacked guy wearing a gray wife beater and he had the same hair that Rich always had. He was running on the treadmill and I got this gut-wrenching feeling, so I "went with my gut" as TV shows and movies say, and my friend and I went by him. I went next to him and she went on my other side. He was listening to his iphone, so i took the oppritunity to fill my friend in on who he was. He took them out after like 10 minutes of my friend and i jogging- him running, and hopped off to get a towel to wipe of his machine (gym rule) when he was standing there I was staring at him, he had to notice. It wwas obvious. Then I was sure it was him. I said "Rich?" He's like "Yeah?" I'm like "take some!" he's like "Erin?!" and we had this huge reunion in the gym. "How old are you?!" and stuff like that. We talked for a while, filled each other in, then I asked "I barely recognized you, you're so jacked and older! You're… 20 now?""19." "Oh. So are you in collage?""No, I'm joining the Army."" …. " i looked him straight in the eye and felt my breath leave for a long time. "What?"
"I'm join-" "Dont say it again!""Sorry" with a smile.
I couldnt believe it. "But- we just re-met… you can't leave… arent you scared?"
"No. A little nervous, but- wait… scared about what?"
"Going to the Army!"
"Oh yeah. No, just nervous. They'll kick my *** but, you know. I can't go to collage" (I dont want to say why he isnt going to collage on here)
"Rich…" I couldnt think of what to say so I turned around and he left after a minute or two to go to a different machine.
I couldnt be mad at him for this. He used to be a chubby, immature, baby-faced teenager. Now he's a mature, kind, jacked, reserved, soon-to-be-soldier. I went up to him before I had to leave to say bye and I knew if I hugged him I'd cry. So I high-fived him and said "I'll see you around."
I left almost crying. WHY?!?!?!??
Rich is my brother. Not biological, but mentally- he's my brother. I don't want him to leave! I'm a freshman this year, and it's stressful. I don't know how to cope with this BULLSHIT!! I need help. How fo I convince him to stay home and be my brother again? Without being mushy or too personal.
