I have a very interesting problem…I am a digital artist meaning i make stuff on the computer. I don't have my own computer, it was stolen a few months ago leaving me to use the computers at my school (a lot are windows XP and a rare few r windows 7) now everytime i saved a picture to my flash drive, the pic would become corrupted and unusable for view or editing; over time this got increasingly annoying. I thought it was the computer but with further testing it concluded that it was the flashdrive. so i backed up my flashdrive on the computer and sought out to format it. I cannot format it on the school computers since they are run on a network as guest (which does not give you authority to format) then i hacked into administrator and tried to format from there, it said unable to format. I ended up taking it to a friend with a personal laptop (which has windows 7) he formatted it and everything seemed fine, I then tried to use my flashdrive on the public school computers (which are windows XP) when I try to use it the computer tells me that formatting was unsuccessful and that i have to format it (tried but they are guest so I got the whole unauthorized thing again). I tried to format again (when i was at an administrative computer) but it still said "unable to format" but when i got to a windows 7 computer (very rare find on campus) it worked perfectly without a hitch. I need help cuz not being able to use this flashdrive on computers I am most likely going to be around is very troublesome for school work. Please help me out if you can and tell me why this happened along with a solution.

I was trying to format to Fat32 cuz I'm about to put a new hard drive into my ps3 and needed something to backup my data on. I was having a hard time and didn't work so I just put the type back to NTFS using the run feature in windows XP. But now I'm only showing 31gb on the empty hard drive. I'm freaking out what can I do or what do I need to do? Thanks

How do I schedule "routine-system-maintenance" using WIN VISTA?

I try to keep my Operating system as good-running and clean as possible.
I use Windows VISTA as my operating system.How do I authorize the SCAN DISK to run in WIN VISTA like I did using earlier versions of Windows (M.E, XP, WIN97, WIN95)?
I have found the DEFRAG-feature using [START] and clicking through this menu.I cannot find Scan-disk feature if I need to use it before Defragmenting.

With all the potential Viruses susceptible to my terminal, I want to keep my system as Clean and operable as I can.
Thanks for known procedures.

I was cleaning up a computer after the money pak virus. I was using ccleaner and thought it might be a good idea to remove the system restore points from when the computer was infected. I deleted the last system restore point and got that BSOD.

The system is running XP sp2 32 bit any ideas?

So my old emachines T3302 has xp old graphics card and old processor I'm going to upgrade it but I got tired of windows OS because I have like 4 PC with windows I want to try Ubuntu because I want the PC to run fast and do every day tasks.
